Urban Scapes - Cape Town

Cape Town's architectural landscape is an intriguing blend of diverse styles, showcasing the city's rich history and contemporary innovation. From the elegant Art Deco buildings of the early 20th century, to the more recent trend of urban modern cement structures, the city's architecture reflects its evolving identity.
Cape Town's urban modern cement architecture in recent years has  embraced minimalism and functionality. Characterized by clean lines, large windows, and a focus on sustainable materials, these buildings redefine the city's skyline.
The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA) and the Silo District exemplify this modern aesthetic, seamlessly blending into the cityscape while pushing the boundaries of design to new heights
Art Deco, popularised in the 1920s and 1930s, left its mark on Cape Town with many buildings boasting  ornate detailing, curved facades, and intricate motifs, evoking a sense of glamour and sophistication from a bygone era.
As the city grows, CapeTown's architecture is changing
It's like a big picture where old buildings are kept to remember the past, but new concepts also come in to make the city more modern.  Whilst preserving its heritage, this ever evolving cityscape continues to preserve its  history but also moving forward.
“Photography is painting with light! The blurs, the spots, those are errors! But the errors are part of it, they give it poetry and turn it into painting” cit Miroslav Tichy
